A Clear View

We have 18 windows in our home.  I did not know that interesting fact until recently when I paid someone to wash them for me.  These are very tall windows that I normally wash by myself.  This year I decided to splurge and pay someone else to do my dirty work.

I came home from work to find my windows looking clean and clear.  That evening the gentleman who washed the windows called and asked if I was pleased with his work.  I assured him that the windows looked great.

Did I mention to you that he washed the windows on a cloudy day?  The problem arose on the first day that the sun came out and began to shine through the windows.  You know what happened.  The streaks and smudges began to show.  My heart just sunk.  Even though I knew the windows were clean, they were not clear.  I knew that this view would never do and that the window washing supplies were coming out.

Most of the time I believe my actions are pleasing to God.  My view of my actions is like looking through those windows on a cloudy day.  It is only when I let the Son shine through my life that I can clearly see myself as God sees me.

I have been washed clean by His blood.  Now it is important for me to continue to seek God’s light to shine on my life and not allow myself to hide any unrighteousness.

 John 8:12  NKJ
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Are there areas of your life that you need the Son to shine on?  Are there areas of disobedience?  Do not allow the clouds of sin to keep you form the clear view the Son can provide.
